The country of Sweden has freedon of religion but the majority of th ecountry is Christian and belongs to the Church Of Sweden. The legal holidays in Sweden are New Year (January 1st), Epiphany (January 6th), Ascention Day (May 31), Christmas (December 25), and more. People in Sweden usually wear the same things wear in the US (e.g. T-Shirts, Jeans, etc.). Swedish people usually use rich sauces in their foods influenced by the French. Some of the most popular dishes in Sweden are meatballs served with lingonberry jam, fried meat, potatoes, and eggs. Almost all of Swedens people can read and write. School is required in Sweden from ages of 7-17. The first nine years of school, they attend a comprehensive school the grade system go 1st-3rd grade are the junior years, 4th-6th are the middle grades and 7-9 are the seinor grades. English is tought as a second language, then everything else is about the same as America (e.g. hot lunch, Breaks, etc.). Swedish is a Germanic language that is simmilar to Norwegian and Danish. There are some similarities to English. The most popular sport in Sweden is soccer (fotboll). Some of the favorite winter sports are cross-country and downhill skiing. Some of the popular water sports that people participate in are swimming, rowing, and sailing.
